  2. Hi Eric,
We started this blog when we started the project then had many other things pulling for our time. So glad you had a chance to stop and have a quick tour. What an amazing project. It is an experience I will always cherish. We missed you at the reunion. Why didn't you come?
I think the barn is booked into fall of 2011. Jennie Partridge is doing the booking.
What are you up to these days anyway? It would be fun to visit with you.
    Take care,
    Jill

  3. thanks jill,

i had just got back from driving up through utah, idaho, wyoming and montana the week before. i tried to get at least one of my siblings to join me, but nobody seemed up to it...and i didn't want to drive back up alone.

anyway, i stopped by warren's place in spanish fork last month and asked him about how to "book the barn." he said that weeks were allocated by "the 12"...excluding my dad and ralph and any of their children. also, warren said the rules are nobody could stay at the barn without being accompanied by one of "the 12." so, if i'm to understand this, none of our family can ever book it because my dad ain't gonna come and chaperone us. considering i'm over 50 years old, i don't really feel the need to be chaperoned to begin with, but that's another story. those of us who live on this side of the country might go up for a weekend if the process was streamed-lined and fairly simple.

on a side note, our immediate family has access to a similar situation with a "vacation home" in st. george. from our experience, the place sits vacant for about 50 weeks of the year. so, i've got to believe that even if "the 12" divide out 56 weeks, it isn't going to be used 4+ weeks a year by each family, specifically if the parental unit has to be with them. then again, maybe none of our family would ever come up there...ralph has offered to let us use his place up at bear lake for years, and none of us has ever taken him up on it.

if you'd like to take this offline from a public forum, i'm on facebook or you can contact me at: oldschoolshirts@gmail.com

    thanks!

    Eric.
